E 74 XBox Error – Is Your XBox Doomed?

How did you feel when you first got the e 74 XBox error? Did you feel utter disappointment? Or did you panic? This issue has turned into a big problem, even leading to a lawsuit. I haven’t heard anything more about it, though. But I’m sure we’ll find out what happened soon enough.

But as it is, it is a big pain in the you know what. It was a good thing that Microsoft decided to extend the warranty to three years. So, if your console is still within warranty, then all the better. But for some, even the extended warranty has come to an end. What do you do then?

The e 74 XBox error is preventing you from playing games and it would be hard to be without it for a whole month, not to mention the cost of sending it back to support to get it fixed.

Of course, there are those free fixes like the towel method and the x clamp method. I know that the x clamp method works for some people. But the towel method though, I have to strongly caution against as it can do more damage than good.

Having said that, the answer to the original question of whether your 360 is doomed is of course, no, thankfully!

If you look in your manual, it will show you how you can diagnose the problem further. The computer inside your console will actually tell you more details about the problem if you ask it to. You will see a number come up and you should be able cross reference that to a particular problem if not in your manual, then on the Microsoft site.

From the many people that have had this problem, the main cause of the e 74 XBox error is overheating and the GPU getting loose from the main board. Once you fix that issue, you shouldn’t have that problem anymore.
