Combining The Five Elements With Numerology

Some western Numerology systems focus on the four elements. Namely, Air, Earth, Fire and Water. However, the Chinese metaphysics systems focus on five elements instead, which is the Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth. This article is meant to serve as a brief introduction to the concept of combining the Five Elements with Numerology as taught by Dr. Oliver Tan, the founder and master teacher of his numerology course, the ‘Power Of Numbers’ (PON).

As we all know, there are also many different Chinese systems that make use of the Five Elements such as Feng Shui, Luo Shu, Flying Stars etc, and the specific elements associated to each number are different. To be able to distinguish the different systems and not mix them up together is important as each system has its own rules and it will lead to giving a different meaning. It might even be contradicting and can be disastrous if it is applied wrongly.

The unique system that will be mentioned below is created by Dr. Oliver Tan. What he discovered wad that the root numbers 1 and 6 are associated to the Metal element, 2 and 7 is to the Water element, 3 and 8 is to the Fire element, 4 and 9 is to the Wood element and the root number 5 is associated to the Earth element. The numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 are of Yin (small) nature and 6, 7, 8, and 9 are of Yang (big) nature. The number 5 (earth) is a balance whereby it has both Yin and Yang elements.

Since the Five Elements also corresponds to our body organs in the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) point of view. The potential health symptoms of a person can be identified. It means that symptoms such as cardiovascular diseases, insomnia, forgetfulness or other symptoms affecting the heart, pericardium and/or small intestines MAY be experienced for a person whose root number is 3.

To explain the whole concept of the Five Elements in this article will not be possible but basically, just take note that there are 3 main cycles. i.e. 1) the Productive (Enhancing) Cycle, 2) The Weakening (Reducing) Cycle, 3) The Controlling Cycle.

Search online for images and resources of the 3 main Elemental Cycles in association with the body organs to get a clearer picture. From a person’s birth chart and the yearly personal chart, Dr. Oliver Tan will teach you how to identify and be aware to prevent unfortunate health related incidents from happening. The fundamental aim is still to harmonise the elements to create a holistic health and wellness of a person.
