During the 5th course of Oprah and Eckhart Tolle’s online class, Oprah brought to remembrance something that happened to Eckhart after he dealt with one woman’s heavy pain-body. Following successfully delivering this woman from a tormenting pain-body, Eckhart went to a restaurant to eat. Upon entering Tolle felt a heavy presence and a similar disruptive force in a gentleman dining nearby.
Tolle: “It was particularly strange because it happened immediately after I’d had a session with a woman who had a very heavy pain-body at home. …It was so heavy that one could almost sense it in the energy field.”
Gross darkness can spiritually be felt as was in the days of Moses, when the Israelites could feel the evil in the atmosphere (Exodus 10:21).
As far as the immediate spiritual attack on Eckhart following the glorious liberation of this woman, this is precisely what Jesus said often occurs following a spiritual breakthrough. “Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts” (Mark 4:15).
Oprah: “Yes. We’ve all encountered people like that where it’s deep, it’s heavy, it’s dark.”
The man at the restaurant started shouting and screaming, becoming louder and louder. It was then Eckhart realized the universal pain-body (what I call the devil) was reacting to the woman’s recent liberation.
Eckhart speaking for the pain-body mentioned it was as if it was saying, “I’m still here. You thought you got rid of me, but I’m still here.”
The demon just jumped into another person having the most negativity inside. Drawing it in, people often unbeknownst to themselves open themselves up to and absorb demon spirits who later act out their anger through them.
Demon spirits are always on the look out for bodies to inhabit and express their evil natures through. When Jesus cast out demons, He once was asked by the demons to enter the pigs nearby. Preparing to cast the demons out of two men from Gergesenes, the evil spirits cried out to Jesus saying: “What have we to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” (Matthew 8:29)
Satan and his demons know their time is short as God’s impending judgment is quickly coming. In the distance a herd of pigs were feeding, which the demons asked Jesus: “If you cast us out, allow us to go away into the pigs” (verse 31).
When Jesus said, “Go!” The demons left the men and entered the pigs. The whole herd of pigs immediately under the influence of the demonic spirits ran swiftly into the water and drown (v. 32).
Those watching this in dismay and fear fled to tell everyone in the city what had happened to those who were possessed with the devils (vs. 33).
This is just one of many examples of how demon spirits leave one person and seek to inhabit another. Jesus said when a demon leaves one body or house, it immediately seeks to inhabit another (see Matthew 12:43). If the spirit cannot find a place to rest, it will come back seeking to inhabit the same person (see verses 44-45).
The person therefore must become spiritually strong and full of God’s Word to defeat the devil when he returns with the evil spirits desiring to posses him.
After witnessing thh patron making all of this commotion after Eckhart entered the restaurant, the owner came over to Tolle and asked, “Did you do all this, did you cause this?” (p. 47)
Intuitively the restaurant owner discerned the spiritual connection that precipitated the disruption.
Eckhart feeling the negative oppressive energy heavily in the restaurant does not dismiss the possibility that the pain body (or demon as I call it) followed him to the restaurant seeking vengeance for the loss of its former home within the newly liberated woman.
