Does Drone Warfare Stir The Hornet’s Nest and Create More Terrorists?

Have you ever noticed in nature how fearful little rodents and field rats are when it comes to flying things? They are perpetually petrified of birds of prey in the sky, and evolutionarily speaking it makes a lot of sense. For those critters which are not afraid of the birds swooping down to eat them, probably never grow up old enough to reproduce. Have you ever considered that terrorists operate a lot like field rats, afraid of the sky, no not of the proverbial ‘devil in the sky’ or pterodactyl but rather of a US Predator Drone.

In many regards one could say that we are terrorizing the terrorists, and why not, they use fear as their weapon, why not fight fear with fear, aka: fire with fire? Now many diplomatic types, left-leaning think tanks, and some of our closest allies believe that we are ‘stirring the hornet’s nest’ with our out-of-nowhere drone strikes and that this actually helps the terrorists recruit other terrorists, thus, it is just causing a perpetual war, which they say the ‘War on Terror’ has no become.

Let me give you a different point-of-view, a hardcore look at it from someone that wants to rid the world of terrorists. Okay so, let’s face it, our Pentagon has been infiltrated by left-wing academics who believe that to “win the peace” we have to ‘win the hearts and minds’ of every single individual in the Middle East – but common sense tells us such a lofty goal is impossible – so who’s right?

Indeed, it is dishonorable to engage in the concept that long-term multi-generational hatred and the thought that future terrorists and combatants which maybe present during the strike – that since they were not the actual target – they must be considered collateral damage. In fact, isn’t it the hate that causes people to become combatants and terrorists in the first place? If these individuals ‘pre-hate us’ it’s just the same as the ‘pre-crime’ moral dilemma of the movie Minority Report.

What we are doing in a drone strike is punishment to terrorists and sending a message that terrorism doesn’t pay. There are consequences for those who make those choices to become terrorists. Obviously their culture and religious fanaticism and/or god allows it (mention of Jihadists in the Koran). So we need to protect ourselves and Carl von Clausewitz is right, you cannot argue with such reality based common sense philosophy. We have to hunt down, find and eliminate terrorists preemptively.

We are TOO careful in our drone program and any propaganda stating otherwise is meant to degrade our political will to continue – now why would we suppose an enemy would try so hard to control the narrative about drone strikes and the small amount of collateral damage? Because drones work, they are working and the enemy hates and fears them – good, I say. Don’t Hesitate, Be Great.
