Does Having Regular Or Frequent Sexual Intercourse Increase The Odds Of A Boy Or Girl Baby?

I sometimes hear from people who fully realize that certain criteria might make it more likely for them to conceive a girl or boy baby. People often wonder if their habits can have any effect on this process. And one of the habits that I am most often asked about is the frequency of sexual intercourse. People often wonder if having regular or more sex makes a girl or boy baby more likely.

A concern that you might hear in this situation is something like: “I really want a girl baby. And one of my friends told me that if you have regular sex every single day when you think that you are ovulating, then this makes you more likely to have a girl baby. Is this true? My husband is traveling for his job and having sex every single day is going to be quite a challenge. But if this claim is true, then I suppose I could make this happen. Is it really accurate to say regular sex makes a girl baby more likely?”

Well, I can not see into the future, but I can tell you that in my opinion it’s really not the frequency of sex that matters. It is whether or not you are having sex at the optimal time for the gender that you are going for.

Because a girl baby is more likely if you have sex before ovulation. And a boy baby is more likely if you have sex after ovulation. And this is true regardless of if you are having sex every day or once a week. Now, with that said, if you are having regular sex, then you are more likely to hit a day that is optimal to you. But, you are also more likely to hit a day that gives you the opposite result of what you are going for, since this is happening every single day.

Just as an example, let’s say that this woman was going to ovulate on a Monday. Let’s assume that she was going to have regular sex starting on the Friday before she suspected that ovulation was approaching. So, let’s say that she had sex for every single day all the way up until Wednesday. In a perfect world, the optimal days for a girl baby would be up until Sunday night. But you really wouldn’t want to have sex past Sunday because by Monday, a baby boy is more likely since ovulation has already occurred. But if you are just having regular sex without any regard to when you are actually ovulating, then you are pretty much leaving it to chance as to which intercourse session might result in a pregnancy.

In the above scenario, if she were lucky enough to conceive during the first couple of attempts, a girl would’ve been more likely. But if it took several tries and went past Monday, then actually getting a boy is the most likely scenario. So it’s not really the quantity of the sex that is important. It is the timing of it. You are better off hand picking the best day and then stopping instead of just having sex without any regard to when you might be ovulating.
