GS Warrior’s Most Valuable Player This Season Is Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry has everything new around him: A new season, and a new coach. Despite all these new things he has reaffirmed that he is the GS Warriors Most Valuable Player.

New Coaching Decisions

The GS Warriors faced many questions in the 2014-15 NBA season. The team lost a 2013-14 first round playoff series to the Los Angeles Clippers in seven games and after this the team’s head coach Mark Jackson was fired. Though the franchise’s win total increased in each of the three seasons when Mark Jackson was with the team, however, the Warrior’s front office had decided that it was time they moved on. This bold decision by the office was a topic for a hot debate across the media for weeks. Several players, including Curry, were displeased with the move; going public to voice his displeasure. The former NBA journeyman Steve Kerr was hired shortly after Jackson was fired, overlooking the lack of previous coaching experience.

Where Is The Love?

A new coach with no previous experience is not the only issue the GS Warriors have to face this upcoming 2014-15 season. Kevin Love trade sweepstakes were heating up this summer. While the Minnesota Timberwolves searched for a valuable return on their power forward, a few teams were ahead of them consistently. Cleveland Cavaliers won the sweepstake eventually, but along with it the GS Warriors were one of the few teams that had a valuable offer for the Minnesota Timberwolves. It was reported that the GS Warriors were offering a package that revolved around Klay Thompson; Timberwolves’ sharp shooting guard. After Kerr disapproved this potential move, and the Cavaliers offered a package built around Andrew Wiggins (the number one overall pick in the NBA Draft of 2014_) Love was shipped to Cleveland. Thompson signed a 5 year extension worth $70 million with Golden State Warriors shortly after his name was thrown around in the trade rumors. Thereby, with everything in the right place, GS Warriors are all set for 2014-15 season.

The Challenge to Victory and Upset

Through 20 games, GS Warriors have proved that they can overcome major injuries to key players and that Kerry can hold his position as the league’s head. Out of all this Curry has emerged as the team’s one of the best point guards and as NBA’s one of the best overall players. Through 20 games his points, assists and steals per game all rank in the league’s top 1-. His 5.1 rebound/game ranks second amongst all the point guards. These have made him the most valuable player in the team and the league. He is also a favorite for the NBA’s MVP award.

Kerr had a great influence on the Warriors’ players. In addition, Curry’s performance continues to bring a sudden impact to the court. Currently Stephen Curry is having his career high–in offensive category–and is showing an increase in dedication to defensive. In contrast. now–without Kerr–Warriors might be lost in the middle of the NBA’s Western Conference Shuffle; which is yet to be seen In the meantime, the GS Warriors’ climb to the top is truly a team effort; however, without their leader Curry, they would be nowhere.
