Why I chose to be an ethical hacker | Ruben van Vreeland | TEDxEindhoven {VIDEO}

Botnets, hackers, data leaks, cybercrime; we hear about them almost every day in the information age. With data leaks arguably tipping elections, no one seems to be more mysteriously powerful than the hackers that know how to navigate the back-roads of our shared cyberspace. Ruben van Vreeland is a veteran ethical hacker with already a decade of experience, hacking the likes of Marktplaats, Linkedin, Indigogo and more. This makes Ruben the perfect person to give us an insight into the world of internet exploits. Ruben van Vreeland is a young, veteran Ethical Hacker. With Ruben’s company, BitSensor, he offers security advice to the greatest web platforms. Ruben started programming at the age of nine. His security career began when he turned 14. Ruben then started his own security consultancy company. A job as a programmer at a web development company followed. Today, Ruben is a speaker at major conferences such as Hack In The Box/HAXPO, where he spoke on advanced XSS. With BitSensor, he has created a radical new approach on fighting attacks on the web application layer. IBM has chosen BitSensor as globally most promising startup in the SmartCamp program.
